BLUEPRINT
April 2006
for the Collect, publication for St. Thomas Episcopal Church,
Medina, WA
When the healing hands were
held back and the teacher’s feet were nailed,
How could we stay on this track and follow the God who failed?
But then we met a stranger on that seven-mile dash from town.
He led us from the manger to the cross and to the crown.
He gave us the blueprint of
creation; he gave us the reason to live on.
He taught us to share with all the hungry the body that’s never truly gone.
He fed us with reconciliation; he taught us to spread the word abroad
That love is the blueprint of creation; love is the master plan of God.
His truthful words would
win us; there was comfort in what he said.
Our hearts were burning in us as we invited him home for bread.
His healing heart grew clearer still at the table, saying grace.
He told us all to eat our fill and we finally saw his face.
He gave us the blueprint of
creation; he gave us the reason to live on.
He taught us to share with all the hungry the body that’s never truly gone.
He fed us with reconciliation; he taught us to spread the word abroad
That love is the blueprint of creation; love is the master plan of God.
